Kerli releases new music video – “Zero Gravity”

Estonian pop singer Kerli Koiv has released the new music video for her newest single “Zero Gravity”, off her upcoming album (name and release date pending. The singer had created a hit with MTV in 2009 with her single “Walking on Air” off of her debut album, Love Is Dead, and landed two tracks on the hit soundtrack, Almost Alice, from Tim Burton’s adaptation of Alice in Wonderland.

In today’s pop culture, it seems many singers are trying to “out-weird” each other with publicity. For Kerli, this isn’t the case. She calls her style “Bubblegoth” and often is quoted saying “I.L.U.” (Integrity, Love, Unity). These values can be seen throughout the music video in which Kerli makes a world of her own.

The track itself stands out on it’s own. It’s very danceable and can easily be put into a club-like setting, but it has deeper lyrics than what we may see as the norm these days, discussing topics such as leaving home, finding weightlessness in love, and feeling free.

In her last single, “Army Of Love”, Kerli opens the song by announcing to her fans that it’s “Time to take over the universe.” Well, be prepared, pop music world – Kerli definitely will be taking over!
